BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle – PS4

There’s a first time for everything and here we are! The first Early Bird review! These are classic style reviews where the code has been provided before launch (in this case the game is launching Friday 22nd June – TODAY when this is posted!) so read on and see if its worth your money and time! Don’t be worried about collusion I don’t work for any publisher or developer unless the public sector decides they are drastically shifting their plans in future… On paper this games concept still baffles me. Take a 2D fighter that’s had four instances now and … Continue reading BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle – PS4

Vampyr – PS4

When you play a horror game you expect a certain amount of tropes to turn up and a vampire focused game is no different. Even if it’s the Masquerade, the Legacy of Kain or even the Buffy video games there’s always the central theme of blood and then the rest of the game is wrapped up in it. Suffice to say I was ready for a new Masquerade game, a ‘dark’ moody RPG with plenty of dialogue to sink my teeth into. Just a shame I didn’t check to see if it had a pulse first. Having a game set in … Continue reading Vampyr – PS4

2 days of PSVR – Down with the sickness

Remember when the press hyped up the 3D effect of the Nintendo 3DS at E3 back in 2010? When everyone in the press were falling over themselves saying how Nintendo had raised the bar and created something magical? Then we all got one and found the 3D was interesting for about a nanosecond before it was turned off to be forgotten about until one or two legendary titles got the 3D aspect so spot on you got a better experience through it. VR for me is just like that. I’ve always loved trying new ways of playing video games from … Continue reading 2 days of PSVR – Down with the sickness

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle – Exp Ops

Here we are at last. What is set to be the last BlazBlue in a long series of confusingly named titles with fantastic 2D anime fighting prowess. I still remember nearly breaking my thumbs playing the original on the Xbox360. Calamity Trigger was not to be taken lightly. Then followed the 3 other titles with additional releases for extras, artwork and DLC. It started to become common to have a release followed a year later by an ‘extend’ edition which also ended up heavily discounted when the next title came along. I’ve played them all but lost track of the story … Continue reading BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle – Exp Ops

Murderous Pursuits – Exp Ops

Hidden in Plain Sight, Assassins Creed’s Multiplayer, Town of Salem and Spy Party; All of these games throw multiple players into an area, task them with faking it as NPCs or innocent extras and murdering other players at the same time. Does Murderous Pursuits stand out as a savage devilish murderer or just another NPC in the background? I’ve played the beta so read on! If you’ve ever played the original Assassins creed Brotherhood/Revelations multiplayer then you’ll feel right at home here. After choosing your default character, colour palette and skills you drop into a third person sneakathon that will … Continue reading Murderous Pursuits – Exp Ops

The rant you’ll probably want to ignore about Star Trek Discovery (but the issues you’ll probably not expect)

Spoilers for season one. duh. Finished Discovery. Before this rant starts, I did enjoy it enough to probably watch more of it. Hold your breath…. It’s over-hyped trash. It relied too heavily on a weak story, flimsy script and overkill CGI that they can’t decide what it did. Some really great characters constantly wasted. Oh and no the swearing was like the first Guardians of the Galaxy, call me a prude all you like (and I’d laugh as I swear fucking constantly) but just throwing it into the episode where it sat was clearly due to lazy writing to get … Continue reading The rant you’ll probably want to ignore about Star Trek Discovery (but the issues you’ll probably not expect)
