What to do if your craving BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

So you’ve finished playing the beta (click here for my take on it)and want more but you’re not sure what to do with yourself. We’ve all been there (I know I have previously) but it’s ok I’m here to help! There’s plenty of options so lets rock! Play BlazBlue: Central Fiction on PS4 Playing the previous BlazBlue is a fairly obvious start but it’s often overlooked which is a shame as the game is enormous. If your on a budget and want a blisteringly fast paced 2D anime fighter that will last for single player modes and options, you can’t go wrong … Continue reading What to do if your craving BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

Video games and the tale of the National Lost Sock Memorial Day

Everything has a day now; Butterscotch brownie day, Eat what you want day, National Sleepover Day… so it makes total sense to mourn the lost socks of yonder. It also got me thinking to video games that you lose, borrow, lend out and never see again. Haunted by the empty case or special pins from the limited edition that can never be classed as ‘near mint complete set’ again. In the spirit of abstract sense and lists of nonsense here are some game things you’ve probably lost to time and should take a moment for… in sock form. A Pokemon … Continue reading Video games and the tale of the National Lost Sock Memorial Day

Games that would be improved by adding Attack on Titan

The Attack on Titan anime is amazing, I think we can all agree that’s the case. It continued to win awards years after the first season released and the second season (although technically more like the 4th) has proven that the series has legs to carry its shambling disfigured strange manga through into the limelight enough to make 2 live action movies and even an anime film covering the events of the season. There have been a few licensed AOT games and they very in quality from the absolute trash 3Ds Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains to the phenomenal … Continue reading Games that would be improved by adding Attack on Titan

Classic mini remakes that would be amazing

So the SNES mini classic has become a darling for me. Seems a few of you managed to get one for Christmas to and found the joy the little box can bring. It’s a little something that you can fire up for a few mins of retro gaming that’s just absolutely brilliant. The NES classic is a thing of course, as is the Spectrums Vega and with rumours of a Gameboy classic on its way here’s some others that need making. Now Great Pocket Colours – “Still as good as a Gameboy Color” A New Neo Geo Pocket Color for … Continue reading Classic mini remakes that would be amazing

Limited edition bundles that should exist

A new Star Wars PS4 is nice and all but it’s so by the numbers… well here’s some concepts that aren’t. Splatoon2 – Switch Obviously serious one this. The official bundle just had a different pro controller and brightly coloured joycons . What it needed was Nickelodeon level plastic squidgyness all over it. Both joy cons extended out in strange and impractical ways and the doc a pink, green mess of splatted ink. You ‘click’ the left joycon on for “your a kid now” and the right joycon for “your a squid now”. Doom – Xbox one S Fully embracing … Continue reading Limited edition bundles that should exist

Great Videogame – TV Show Mashups

For no particular reason and in no particular order, here are some particular pitches. RINGS – (Sonic R) – Sonic the hedgehog and his entourage star in a “jackass style” show. Where they get together and do stupid stunts to see how many creative ways they can get rings knocked out. The series is cut short when knuckles punches a mound of c4 and accidentally blows up half of Detroit. YOUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE – (Mario is Missing) – Luigi is a light hearted plumber who has to make sense of the human world through gruesome deaths resembling his best … Continue reading Great Videogame – TV Show Mashups

Concept – Mario maker 64

Quite a simple idea this one. Make a Mario Maker game but using Mario 64 as the engine/environment/assets. So you play through Mario 64 and each stage you complete you unlock the assets for, the tutorial being the first stage (rather than the hub). It would include up to 4 player simultaneous multiplayer functionality for no practical reason just for kicks. As with Mario Maker at finishing the tutorial it would unlock a few ‘concept’ levels with basic assets. So your probably thinking, “this sounds stupid! How would you easily make a level of 3D Mario?”. It’s simple when you … Continue reading Concept – Mario maker 64
